Magic ring

Row 1: ch 2, 3 HDC in MR

Begin each next row with ch2 and turn the work.

Row 2: 2 HDC, 1 HDC, 2 HDC
Row 3: (2 HDC, 1 HDC) 2x, 2 HDC
Row 4: 2 HDC in first, 1 HDC in each stitch, 2 HDC in last.  (10 stitches in this row)

cut the yarn

MIDDLE

We begin in the 4th stitch from the left side. Attach the yarn, ch 2 and turn.

Row 5: 2 HDC, 1 HDC, 1 HDC, 2 HDC

Row 6: (2 HDC, 1 HDC) 2x, then 1 HDC, 2 HDC

Row 7: (2 HDC, 1 HDC) 4x, then 2 HDC

Row 8: 2 HDC in first, 1 HDC in each stitch, 2 HDC in last.  (16 stitches in this row)

cut the yarn


BOTTOM

We begin in the 6th stitch from the left side. Attach the yarn, ch 2 and turn.

Row 9: 2 HDC, 1 HDC in 4 stitches, 2 HDC

Row 10: (2 HDC, 1 HDC) 3x, then 1 HDC, 2 HDC

Row 11: (2 HDC, 1 HDC) 5x, then 1 HDC, 2 HDC

Row 12: 2 HDC in first, 1 HDC in 10

Now make the trunk: ch 1 and turn, 1 SC in 5, ch1 turn, 1 SC in 5 (trunk is made) ch 1 and make 1 slip stitch in 10th HDC in row 12.

Continue the row 12: 1 HDC in 6, 2 HDC in the last stitch. Cut the yarn.

Continue the tree with edging.
